In other news today….

Sorry that I have been so quiet…

I have a couple of post on hold at the minute… my days don’t have enough hours. But will get back to them as soon as possible!! :-)

Today I baby-sat a little boy, who’s parents are both deaf… his parents were attending the little boys great-grandfathers funeral… AND since the little boys mom and I go waay back (I used to be her nanny) she called me and asked if I could look after him for a few hours!!! (he by the way can hear, but uses signs as well – 1 year old)

That poor little fellow had never seen me before, since they live in Bergen (6 hour drive from here) we met, and spent 10 minutes together before his parents took off….

He cried for about half a minute… then decided we could be friends :-) HE WAS SO CUTE!! We spent a few hours together and I had so much fun.. he was such an angel!!

~~~ IN OTHER NEWS ~~~
Monday morning, I got an sms from my next door neighbour ( I was still in bed, and quite tired) … the house next to her was in flames!!
I couldn’t believe it!!! I had slept through the sirens and all the commotion!!!
The old lady in the house made it out of the house, but unfortunately her husband died…
The house didn’t burn to the ground, but it looks so sad sittin’ there with black windows now…
Ironicly december 1st, is the day to check and change the firealarm batteries over here…
SO MY FRIENDS
CHECK YOUR FIREALARMS!!!
AS THIS IS THE SEASON FOR FIRES!!!
PLEASE!!!!
WOW!! A 6 hour drive to babysit. That is very nice of you. I am glad he decided to become friends right away.
That is so sad that the ladies husband died. I will check my batteries in our fire alarm.
Hugs, Terrie
Hi Monica! Oh, my! I'm so sorry to hear about the fire at your neighbor's home and the poor little man dying! So thankful the fire didn't spread over to your house!
I'm glad it worked out well as you baby sat the little boy! He must be one smart little one to be able to sign.
Thank you so much for coming to see me. I do have a lot of dishes. It's kinda a weakness with me. :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
you are so kind to babysit...and must be lots of fun if the child decided to be pals...so sad about the death next door...this is a bad time to lose someone so tragically.
This is the worst time of year to loose someone and fires are devastating.
What a tragedy! I'm glad the woman is okay but what a terrible loss for her. I hope she has family to take care of her.
I am glad I don't leave my kids with babysitters and that I don't have to take a six hour drive to drop my kids off. YIKES!
:-) They drove 6 hours to get here.. since the great grandfather lived here... (and this was not the same person as in the fire) ... SO they were just lucky that I lived here too.. and could look after their little boy. :-)
Oh my! That's just horrible about your neighbors!!! I can't believe you slept through it all! But then again with the hours you've been working I can understand that!
I'm glad it went well with the babysitting...they are SO cute at that age!
oh my Monica, How tragic to loose a home and a husband right here at Christmas! I will be praying for your neighbor! Does she have family or friends to be with her? She needs someone! Nancy
Hi Monica! So glad to hear from you today!! Do you have Marshall's Department stores in Norway? I really do love that place.
Oh, I wanted to ask you if you have snow? We don't get any where I live.
