….. of summer in my neighbourhood…
Let me just tell you… all these pictures were taken on the same day… believe it or NOT ;-)
Majestic mountains… and the snow never leaves the mountain tops…
It’s beautiful isn’t it??
Yeah… that’s me.. putting my toes in the freezing cold ice water .. in the middle of summer….
This was taken out the car window.. at speed…It’s great isn’t it??
No.. we’re not still using viking ships to get around….. BUT we had to stop here and take pictures.. there’s this man living not far from us.. that build these beautiful ships… He’s doing such a great job….(and those are my kids playing in the lake….)
Wouldn’t it be nice to sail this lake in one of these?? Isn’t it a bit weird to think our/my forefathers were VIKINGS… and sailed in boats like this (only larger) across the oceans.. even all the way to America… I find it hard to believe…
Have a great day!!!!

Hi Monica, I love seeing pictures of your country! It is amazing you have snow and warm weather all at the same time :)
Those boats are beautiful! You should feature that man and his art on one of your post! I also find it hard to believe that our forefathers sailed on ships like that all the way to America....I wouldn't do it at all...too chicken! Nancy
OMG!! Monica it's spectacular!! Takes my breath away!! God sure must have loved Norway to have made it sooo BEAUTIFUL! *winks* I can't believe your great grandparents lived in Portland! Well you MUST come back for a visit! July would be good...that's when the next Expo show happens *winks* Vanna
You live in a beautiful land. I love the stories of the Vikings.
I simply can't imagine living amongst so much beauty. Sure California is beautiful too but we have nothing like what you have in Norway. You are so lucky. The picture with your children and the Viking ships is so neat. It looks like they just came onshore to frolic.
Hugs, Bridget

What gorgeous pictures once again, Monica! How cold is the water in the lake your kids were playing in? I'm assuming it's mountain fed and therefore pretty damn cold, huh?
Justine :o )

Beautiful pictures, Monica. I love those viking ships... it really amazes me that people really used ships like that...
I'm loving the pictures*! I'm thinking I just may have to put Norway on my list of MUST visits as soon as I am flying again. It's so beautiful*! Thank you for all the sweet comments tonight. You made my day*! I will be back to visit tomorrow, until then, Goodnight/Sweetdreams*

Monica, hello there!
Those ships are just gorgeous to look at! And such history behind them. My first daughter, her father is part German part Norwegian. And she takes real pride in being part of that great heritage.
You take really great photos even in a moving car! That's awesome! :-)
Hugs,
Chandy
Hi Monica, we still have lots of snow but NOTHING as beautiful what is on your mountain tops. The scenery is magnificent!
The Viking Ships are such a wonderful example of Craftsmanship.
(Back in 1960 and Norweigian Archelogist couple discovered a Norse Settlement in Newfoundland (Canada). It is located at L'Anse aux Meadows and the site has eight buildings which date back to the 11th Century A.D. (1,000 years ago (500 years before Christopher Columbus discoverd North America). It is believed to be the only settlement on our Continent.)
HAVE A SUPER WEEKEND!
Hugs -Brenda-

Hi Monica! I still love looking at your beautiful neighborhood! Oh, we toured the viking museum in Oslo! It was so interesting. Thank you, Dear One, for coming by to see me.
Be a sweetie,

My goodness...there is now way the scenery could be any more beautiful! And those boats he builds are the coolest things ever. They look so fun! It would be fun to sail them around the lake for sure!
